This year’s tournament will be unlike any other we have ever hosted at Akron due to the ongoing battle with Covid-19. However, we are striving to provide the same quality of wrestling as in past years. To do so, some changes had to be made, that may or may not be very popular. First, NO SPECTATORS will be allowed during any portion of the tournament! This allows us to spread the athletes out on both sides of the gym and group them by school, hopefully helping to mitigate the spread of the virus and keep kids wrestling as late into the season as possible. We will be using Track Wrestling to run the event (as we have done in the past), however, we are also planning to provide a “Live Stream” of each mat. Here are the access links. Second, there will only be a LIMITED REFRESHMENT STAND available this year for athletes and coaches with pre-packaged snacks and drinks. Athletes/Coaches should plan to bring food with them. We are also working with a local restaurant to have dedicated delivery service to the school on both days so coaches/athletes can order food and have it delivered to them at the main entry to the gym.
